Product Description

When a fleet has more than a handful of boats or vehicles, consistency saves time. The MT054 is designed to be the one master switch fitted across that fleet: yellow housing, two positions, 250 amps continuous, 360 amps for short bursts, and a 32 volt ceiling that covers both 12V and 24V systems.
The value is not just electrical. A single recognisable switch means a new crew member can be shown the isolation point once and will recognise it on every other unit in the fleet. That reduces the chance of someone hunting through a panel while water is coming in, or leaving a boat energised when it should be dead.
Mechanically it is a standard rotary isolator: ON closes the circuit, OFF breaks it, and both extremes have a positive stop so the dial cannot rest between positions. Studs take conventional ring lugs, and the flat flange mounts to panels, bulkheads and locker walls.

Standardising a Fleet
BenefitEffect on operations
One part numberSingle spares line, simpler stores and fewer variants to train on
Yellow housingMaster isolate is recognised instantly across every unit
Two positions onlyNo selector sequence to remember under pressure
12V and 24V coverageSame switch serves both system voltages in a mixed fleet
Panel Labelling Guide
  • Mark the switch body or adjacent panel with a plain "MASTER" label in the operator's language.
  • Add an arrow pointing to the OFF direction, so isolation does not depend on memory.
  • Record the switch location in the vessel or vehicle handover sheet.
  • Photograph the panel after installation and keep the image in the maintenance file.
  • Brief every new operator on the location before their first trip.

Installation Steps
  1. Set the dial to OFF and disconnect the battery negative lead before starting.
  2. Confirm the circuit is dead at both studs using a meter.
  3. Choose a flat surface where the dial turns freely and cable can bend without strain.
  4. Drill the flange holes, then fasten the housing down evenly.
  5. Battery positive to one stud, distribution or starter feed to the other.
  6. Crimp closed ring lugs, torque both nuts, cycle the dial once, then reconnect and test.
Operator Drill

Once a season, have every regular operator physically locate the switch, turn it to OFF and back to ON with the loads disconnected. Two minutes of practice is enough to make the isolation point automatic in an emergency, and it confirms the dial has not stiffened up over the winter.

Buyer Questions
Can I standardise an entire fleet on this switch?

Yes, that is the intended use. One part number covers 12V and 24V units rated up to 32V.

Does the yellow colour fade?

The colour is moulded into the housing rather than painted, so it does not peel or flake at the fixings.

What is the 360A figure for?

Short bursts such as a thruster or windlass run. Sustained loads stay at or below 250A.

Is a key version available?

This model uses a plain rotary dial. Key-operated variants can be quoted separately.

Can labels be printed with our brand?

Branded dial legends and packing can be produced with written trademark authorisation, agreed before production.
