A master switch that anyone can turn is a master switch that can be turned by the wrong person. The MT030 adds a removable key to the familiar two-position rotary format: with the key out, the dial cannot be moved, so the circuit stays isolated while the boat is left on a mooring, the machine sits in an open yard, or the vehicle is parked on a public street.

The red cover is not decoration. On a dark dash or inside a black battery box, colour is the fastest way to identify the master isolate, and it gives a clear visual check that the switch has been left at OFF.

Construction is an ABS housing with red copper conductors, and the terminals use M8 nuts and screws. Two mounting holes secure the body to a flat panel. Operation is a straight ON-OFF with a hard stop at each end.

The key feature earns its keep wherever access is shared. Marina berths, club boats, hire fleets, plant yards and roadside parking all create the same risk: someone energises a circuit that should be dead. Fitting the MT030 between the battery positive and the distribution block gives the owner physical control over that risk, without adding electronics or wiring complexity.

1. Turn the dial to OFF, remove the key, then disconnect the battery negative lead.
2. Confirm the circuit is dead at the switch studs with a meter.
3. Position the body on a flat panel and mark the two mounting holes.
4. Drill, then fasten the housing down evenly so it seats flat.
5. Connect battery positive to one stud and the distribution feed to the other, using M8 ring lugs.
6. Torque both nuts, insert the key, cycle ON-OFF once, then reconnect the battery and test.

Never turn the key while a heavy load is drawing; shut the load down first, then rotate to OFF. Keep a spare key in a known place, because the switch cannot be operated without one. Inspect the M8 hardware each season for tightness and corrosion, and clean salt film off the red cover so the colour stays easy to spot.
