Compact ABS Copper Isolator

A 24V system usually fails quietly: a fridge left running, a lamp in a locker nobody checks, and three weeks later the bank is flat. The MT069 puts a hard mechanical break in that circuit, so the whole 24V side can be shut down with one deliberate turn rather than by pulling a fuse and hoping.

It is rated 100A at DC 24V — the range where caravan and small-boat house loads actually live: lighting, pumps, a fridge and an inverter in the 1–2kW class. The dial has a positive stop at each position, so anyone on board can tell whether the circuit is live without reading a label.

Where the MT069 Fits
  • 24V house banks on caravans and motorhomes — Kills lights, pumps, fridges and the inverter feed from one dial before storage or transport.
  • Small boat and RIB electrics — Isolates a single 24V circuit where there is no room for a large breaker panel.
  • Work vehicles and plant — Stops parasitic drain on machines that sit idle for weeks between jobs.
  • Off-grid and solar cabinets — Gives a manual hard break ahead of the battery so service work can be done dead.
Build Notes
  • Detent, not friction — The dial drops into a positive stop at ON and at OFF, so the position can be checked by touch as well as by eye.
  • Copper bridge — Lower resistance than plated steel keeps the studs cooler at 100A and leaves a contact face that cleans up after years of use.
  • Moulded ABS body — Holds terminal alignment when heavy lugs are torqued and does not soften in a hot engine bay or a sun-baked locker.
  • Sealed joint — Keeps spray, dust and fuel mist out of the contact set, which is the usual cause of a switch that sticks or welds.

Cable and Fuse Planning

The rating that matters for wire is the continuous one. Work from 100A, add margin for length and bundling, then fuse the positive cable at the battery end. A switch protects nothing on its own; it only gives you a way to break a circuit that was built correctly in the first place.

Fitting Sequence
  1. Dial to OFF, negative lead off first — Prove zero volts at both studs before any other work.
  2. Match cable and fuse to 100A — Size the run for the continuous figure with margin, and fuse at the battery end of the positive cable.
  3. Fix to a flat, rigid surface — A flexing panel will loosen the stud nuts over a season; use the rear base on solid material.
  4. Land closed ring lugs and torque fully — Bank positive on one stud, distribution feed on the other. Hand-tight is not a connection.

Care and Inspection
First week Re-torque both stud nuts and check for heat tint at the terminals.
Monthly Feel the studs after a loaded run; wipe salt or dust film off the housing.
Each season Cycle the dial a few times, inspect lugs for corrosion, check cable insulation.
After a fault Replace any cable with a damaged lug rather than retightening a heat-affected joint.
Supply Terms

Buyer Questions
Is 100A enough for my inverter?

At DC 24V a 100A rating covers roughly 2.4kW of continuous draw. Add up everything that can run at once and keep the total under the rating.

Can I use it on a 12V system?

This model is rated DC 24V, so keep it on 24V circuits. For 12V installations choose a matching 12V rated switch.

Where should the fuse go?

On the positive cable as close to the battery as practical, so the cable itself is protected, not just the switch.

Will it isolate two banks?

The MT069 is a single-circuit ON-OFF switch. Two banks need either two switches or a dedicated selector model.

Can I order a private-label dial?

Dial artwork and housing marking can be produced to your drawing once quantity and specification are confirmed.

Tell us the continuous load, cable cross-section and mounting position you have in mind, and we will confirm the MT069 configuration, packing and lead time for your order.
