Two banks and one dial is the oldest arrangement in boat electrics, and it still works because it is honest: you can see which battery you are running on. The MT074 gives you four marked positions — 1, OFF, 2 and BOTH — with a detent at each, so the choice is deliberate rather than something that drifts with vibration.
Inside, a copper bridge and stud terminals rated 500A continuous carry the everyday house load, with 700A available for five minutes and a 1,600A cranking burst for thirty seconds on a cold diesel. The shell is gray ABS with a sealed joint, so spray and dust stay out of the contact set.

| 1 | Everything runs from battery bank 1 only. Use it as the everyday position so bank 2 stays charged and untouched. |
|---|---|
| OFF | Both banks are disconnected from the loads. This is the storage and service position — no parasitic drain, no live studs. |
| 2 | Everything runs from bank 2 only. The usual choice when bank 1 is depleted and you want to keep the electronics alive. |
| BOTH | The two banks are paralleled onto the load. Use it deliberately: to start on a combined bank, or to let the alternator charge both. Leaving the dial here permanently hides a failing battery, because one bank props up the other. |
| First week | Re-torque the three stud nuts and check for heat tint at the terminals. |
|---|---|
| Monthly | Feel the studs after a loaded run; wipe salt or dust from the shell and check the dial detents. |
| Season start | Cycle through all four positions, inspect lugs for corrosion, check cable insulation for cracks. |
| After a fault | Replace a cable with a damaged lug rather than retightening a heat-affected joint. |
MT074, 1-OFF-2-BOTH selector, gray shell, rated 500A continuous / 700A for 5 minutes / 1,600A cranking at DC 32V. There is no minimum order quantity — single units, samples and mixed containers are all accepted, with pricing quoted against quantity and packing. Standard production runs 30 days from deposit, T/T or Western Union with 30% down and the balance before shipment. Units ship in cartons; pallet and mixed-container lots can be quoted separately.
You can, but it is a poor habit. Paralleled banks mask a weak battery and let one bank discharge into the other. Use BOTH to start or to charge, then return to 1 or 2.
Keep both banks the same chemistry, age and capacity. Mixing lead-acid with lithium in the BOTH position is not recommended.
Yes. OFF disconnects bank 1 and bank 2 from the load stud, which is what makes it suitable as a storage and service position.
Yes. DC 32V covers 24V nominal systems with headroom for charging voltage. It is not intended for 48V circuits.
Shell marking and dial artwork can be produced to your drawing, with the specification confirmed before production.
No MOQ on the MT074. Single units, sample orders and trial quantities are accepted.
Tell us your bank sizes, cable cross-section and mounting position and we will confirm the MT074 configuration, packing and freight for your order — no minimum quantity required.
